The National Medical Commission (NMC) has confirmed NEET UG 2026 will be held on 3 May 2026. The rationalised syllabus — based on the NCERT review committee's recommendations — has been finalised, removing 9 topics from Physics, 6 from Chemistry, and 3 from Biology compared to the 2024 syllabus.
Why it matters for exams
NEET UG aspirants must strictly follow the NMC-notified 2026 syllabus. The reduction in topics does NOT reduce competition — it means remaining topics will be tested more deeply. Section B (optional questions) format continues with 10 questions, 5 to be attempted per subject.
